Fall 2020 has wrapped and Spring 2021 is here! I met with quite a number of #students from #AzusaPacificUniversity and #FullerSeminary this fall, ranging from #undergraduate and #graduate #nursing, #socialwork, #TESOL, and #English students. I got to see some projects from their manifestation to the very end! One particular graduate-level literary analysis on #Esther and her representation in #TinaSamo's #Estella was my favorite. I also got to learn about social work from an array of views on the #political spectrum. Every chance I have to work with a student is a chance for me to learn something new, and I grow just as much from our sessions as do the students.
This spring semester, I look forward to working with many a student who will be graduating this summer. Make sure you book your appointments early in the writing process so that you know you're setting yourself on the write track and interpreting the prompt correctly! No one likes having their paper reviewed days before the due date just to be told that they missed the prompt entirely.
Remember! #Revising is NOT #editing or #proofreading! Editing and proofreading are looking at #sentencestructure, #diction, #wordchoice, and #grammar. Revising is looking at how your ideas come across to the reader. Do they make sense? Is the order in which you state your ideas the best it could possibly be? If you're unsure about your own #writingprocess, make an appointment! You don't need to have anything written or even anything assigned to schedule an appointment. We can spend our time talking about writing strategies, like #brainstorming, #drafting, #revising, #editing, #proofreading, grammar rules, or #genre expectations. These sessions are GUARANTEED to improve your writing process, whether you're a student or not!
If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email or submit your question at the bottom of the home page. I look forward to working with all of you! Happy writing!
