Restorative.
Learner.
Individualization.
Intellection.
Analytical.
These are my top 5 strengths according to CliftonStrengths. This is where I begin. I can say with confidence that these strengths accurately represent my self, my motivation, and my goals. However, individualization is key here. I like connecting with people on a personal level, helping each person to become a better version of their self. I believe education is the best method of self-improvement, whether that be formal education like college or causal reading and writing.
Writing, as composition scholar Donald Murray says, is a "process of discovery through language" (4). Discovery of self. Discovery of the world. Discovery of the meaning of life. I am a firm believer that this discovery happens regardless of the type of writing--professional, creative, academic, or of the fanfiction variety. The arranging of words and ideas is a complex process best practiced in community, where a resonator may "show interest, give feedback, express praise, offer encouragement, contribute practical help, and promote [a] work to others" (Glyer 30). I pledge to be a resonator, a guide in someone's journey to discovery through writing.
I look forward to serving all of my clients in their personal and professional growth and development. I hope to learn how to better connect my passion for serving the individual with my love for writing and discovery. Please feel welcome to reach out to me with any advice, critique, feedback, or questions. Thank you for reading.
